On Saturday, 26 November 2016 an “International Symposium and National Seminar 2016” was organised at PGRI University of Yogyakarta to celebrate the 54th anniversary of PGRI University of Yogyakarta. This event started at 08.00 A.M. The participants of this seminar were Bachelor Degree students, Master Degree students, Teachers and also Lecturers. Guest speakers were Nadarajan Thambu PhD from Sultan Idris Education University of Malaysia, Prof. Djoko Suryo from PGRI University of Yogyakarta, and Prof. Sutrisna Wibawa.
In this seminar Nadarajan Thambu PhD delivered his speech about Forum Theatre as Teaching Pedagogy of Moral Education. He said that,” Forum Theatre technique is able to develop moral reasoning, moral emotion, and moral behaviour”. Meanwhile, Prof. Sutrisna Wibawa delivered his speech about developing national character. Another speaker Prof. Djoko Suryo was also delivered his speech about Developing National Character Building based on local wisdom in the global era especially from Indonesian perspective. Based on his paper, it analyses how Indonesia responds to the challenge of the globalization era through restoring the national character building. The main purpose of his paper is to clarify the effort of Indonesia in respond to the negative globalization’s challenge. This event finished about 3 P.M. It was going successfully, shown from how many people who participated in this seminar.
